Truth About (Health) Reform


Prince of Peeps says:  The Obama administration stubbornly and belligerently bulls its way forward with the implementation of Obamacare, in spite of a court ruling declaring the law unconstitutional.  Their attitude seems to be, “Screw the American people and what they want.”  The following article is from IBD.

Health Care: Nearly a year ago, the president signed the Democrats’ reform legislation into law. Does it look any better now than it did then? No. The disorder it creates will be as painful as we feared.

ObamaCare fans should take time this week to listen in on hearings held by the Senate finance and health, education, labor and pension committees. They won’t like everything they hear, that’s for sure. But if they keep an open mind, they’ll get some idea of how much damage the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will do.

In fact, if all they did was listen Wednesday to Sen. Orrin Hatch, ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, they’d come away with a new point of view.

In his opening statement at the Finance Committee hearing, the Utah Republican dropped some staggering statistics. Forget about ObamaCare saving money, as advertised, he said. The program will actually cost $2.6 trillion. And to pay for it, Washington will need $813 billion in new taxes.  (Follow the link to read more.)
